Al & Cindy Weintraub's 1965 GTO Concourse

|
This 1965 GTO is an all original, Fremont, CA car. Equipped with a 360 HP "YR" Tri-Power 389, this '65 has almost all of the creature comfort options including: automatic trans, A/C, ps, pb, p. windows, p. seat, p. antenna, AM/FM, tilt wheel, Ralley gauges and the sport steering wheel. Kelley Klein of Morgan Hill, CA handled the body-off restoration chores. Everything was restored to original, even the Tri-Power was restored with the original vacuum linkage. Remember, most people and dealers replaced the vacuum linkage with the more popular mechanical linkage so it was difficult one-year project to locate all the parts for the original vacuum setup. Since it's a California car, it came equipped with a closed PVC system consisting of three tubes off the carbs running to the driver's side valve cover. Look at the pictures below of all the extra equipment for this PVC system, the motor almost looks like a late-day smogger with all the extra lines and hoses! This year (2000) the car was entered in concours original restored at the GTOAA Nationals and won a silver. It won't stay a trailer queen forever though, once I get my "gold" it's hitting the streets to be enjoyed, not that I don't enjoy showing it. |

This is the closed PVC system that all CA Tri-Power goats were built with.
